Time moves on, at the same pace it always has. For us humans, infinitesimal specks in the sweep of time and space, time had a different cadence in 2020, at times grindingly slow, at others, swooshing past faster than we could cope. Or sometimes it was both, at the same time, rocking our very foundation of whatever we thought or had come to believe as certain, stable and true.
Today we bid our final farewell to 2020. Symbolically, the number “2020” has represented clarity and vision. Yet, 2020 felt anything but, feeling instead more like a muddied, confusing, dark roller coaster ride. Somehow, simply by the steady passage of time, we made it through.
“Hindsight is 2020” – we may choose to look at 2020 with greater wisdom and clarity, coming to realise it was the year when we individually and collectively became clearer about ourselves – what’s really important, who we are, why we are here, who matters, how brief and uncertain and yet beautiful, this thing called “life” is. In time, we may realise it was the year when our human illusions of grandeur, pomposity and dominion were revealed to be just that – illusions – as we were brought to our collective knees by a microscopic virus.
2020 is over. Time to move on. I created this “Detaching from 2020” Guided Meditation, for you to sit quietly, alone or with loved ones (even on ZOOM) and ceremonially bid a final farewell to 2020.
My wish for you for 2021:
May you greet each day with thanksgiving
May you know that each day is a gift
May you know that your blessings are always too numerous to count
May you traverse the coming days with grace
May you flow through life with ease
May you be kind to others
May you be kind to yourself
May you be kind to our planet
May you recognise your uniqueness
May you know your oneness with all
One love
Marguerite
